A Pacifica side hit is a door mechanism job as much as a body job
The thing that makes a minivan useful is also the thing that makes side damage complicated. A Pacifica’s power sliding doors run on upper, lower and center tracks fastened to the body, driven by motors and cables and controlled by obstruction detection. Bend the opening and the door will still close — it will just close hard, stop short, or reverse itself every third try, and no amount of adjusting the latch will fix a body opening that is out of shape.
So a side impact on a Pacifica is measured before it is fitted. The opening is checked against factory dimensions, the tracks are inspected along their full length rather than at the ends, rollers and hinges are examined for load damage, and the door system is cycled repeatedly at the end of the job. A door that works once on the shop floor is not the same as a door that works in January.
The plug-in hybrid puts a battery under the second row
Pacifica Hybrid models carry their high-voltage battery in the floor beneath the second-row seating area, which is precisely the region a side impact loads and precisely where a shop would otherwise be welding without a second thought. Before any cutting, welding or structural pulling, the high-voltage system is shut down and given time to discharge, and the pack case, mounts and cabling are inspected where the impact landed. None of that adds much time to the job. Skipping it adds a great deal of risk.
Lift points differ on the hybrid too, so the van goes up where the manufacturer says it goes up rather than wherever a hoist arm reaches. Anything found in the high-voltage area is documented in writing for you and for your insurance company. A conventional Pacifica needs none of this, which is exactly why the hybrid gets its own sequence rather than the same one with a bit more care.

The 300 is a different car entirely
The Chrysler 300 sits on a rear-drive platform with a long wheelbase, a substantial front subframe and its own structural behavior in a collision. A front impact loads that subframe and the steering hardware attached to it, and the damage does not always announce itself in the sheet metal. Rear-drive geometry also means alignment issues after a hit tend to show as tracking problems rather than as an obvious pull.
Every 300 that comes in with structural suspicion goes on the laser measuring system and is compared to published dimensions before anyone commits to a plan. Corrections are made on the frame machine where the procedure allows, the car is re-measured, the steering angle sensor is reset, and alignment is verified with a road test rather than assumed from the alignment rack printout. A rear-drive sedan can track straight on smooth pavement and still wander under braking, and that is a structural symptom rather than a tire one.
